Jon Derricott

With a background in nursing, Jon has worked in the drugs field for over 15 years.

During that time he worked for 5 years in a Merseyside treatment service with several inspirational individuals, key amongst whom were Shaun Speed and Dr Stefan Janikiewicz.

Jon subsequently became training and development manager for HIT - during which time he was lead author of The Safer Injecting Briefing and helped to develop many HIT publications and a varied training programme.

He has since worked with Exchange Supplies to develop the distribution of injecting paraphernalia throughout the UK and as a freelance trainer. Jon is a founder member of the UK Harm Reduction Alliance.

Jon lives in Shrewsbury, with his wife, 2 children and dog. A keen cyclist since the 1970's (although sometimes more in spirit than reality), he is currently in a phase of sustained effort, fulfilling a long held ambition to concentrate on speed as well as distance.
