Abstract
Injecting drug users lead chaotic life's, but if you add rough sleeping to this the resulting complex mixture of circumstances and needs may appear impossible to unreal to workers. In his presentation Peter will look at routes into homelessness, engagement and sustainment techniques and introduce assertive outreach techniques as a means of working with the client group

Biography
Peter is currently Rough Sleepers Team Manager with Streetwork UK in Edinburgh and has a history of over 16 years working in the addictions and homelessness fields. Peter is currently Chair of the Coalition of Drug Agencies in Lothian, sits on the Action Team for Drugs and Alcohol in Edinburgh. Peter has also worked nationally as a trainer and lecturer in Homelessness and Addiction and is a published researcher in Street Drinking and Outdoor Injecting.
