Abstract
The Spider Project is an innovative Relapse Prevention Service based in Liverpool. We offer a range of creative, physical and holistic workshops and pursuits to our clients. Since 2002 we have run a creative writing group which has produced several live performances at Theatres and concert halls in Liverpool city centre. In 2008 we published our first book entitled 'Content' which has received wide acclaim and was launched at the Everyman Theatre.

It has been reviewed favourably in several magazines and newspapers. Some of the writers have since been published in other forums at home and abroad. This session will go through the processes of the creative group, the dynamics of publication and the subsequent self-esteem and personal development of those involved. A limited number of copies of the book will be available and there will also be online access to a selection of the material.

Biography
Gerry Linford is the founder and Project Manager of The Spider Project. He has worked in the field of substance misuse for 22 years.Born in Liverpool in 1962, the eldest of ten children he has a degree in English Language and Literature, a Post graduate Certicate in Education and a Postgrad diploma in Counselling. He is married with five daughters.
