The Briefings
During the writing of the Methadone and Safer injecting handbooks, there was a huge amount of information that was collected and distilled... Both the Methadone Briefing and The Safer Injecting Briefing were written because there was a clear need for this information to be available to the field, in the form of a detailed guide to practice.
Heavily practitioner orientated, the briefings were the text books we needed for our practice, and as such are practical and evidence based guides to practice.
Both books are now out of print, but we have left them online because much of what was included is as true now as it was then, although the passage of years, means they contain more gaps than they did.
As well as the Methadone Briefing and Safer Injecting Briefing, we have also developed a series of 15-25 page briefing papers covering key practice areas for drug services. All the briefings can be accessed from the links on the right.
