Non-medical use
The very long grey needle is used by some femoral injectors who have a well developed track to their femoral vein to reach the vein.

Care must be used because the fine needle hasn't got the same strength as thicker 40mm needles.

However, where the injection site is clear, the finer needle may cause less ongoing damage, and providing the injector takes care with the injection, and doesn't move or bend the needle, it may be the finest needle for the task of reaching a vein that is some distance from the surface.
