The safe snap is a unique invention designed to prevent glass cuts when opening glass ampoules, which we provide free of charge to customers buying 2ml water for injections.

The plastic case completely encloses the glass ampoule, holding the neck in place so that it can be broken with a simple snap.

The snapper can then be easily opened so that the ampoule can be removed, or the amp snapper can be locked in the open position (by means of a clip on the back) and contents of the ampoule can be drawn up in situ.

Glass cuts from opening glass ampoules will be a thing of the past!

Practice Notes
The main practice issue for use of the safe snap is to ensure that everyone using the safe snap amp snapper knows that the blue dot on the neck of the ampoule is facing outwards.

ALWAYS HAVE THE BLUE DOT FACING OUT.

When using ampoules that have been scored to make opening easier, you must place the ampoule in the snapper correctly, otherwise the amp may shatter inside the device.

10ml ampoules
The safe snap will also break 10ml ampoules: simply place the top of the ampoule in the 'body' part of the snapper, hold the bottom half of the ampoule in your hand, and break.

The cold...
Plastic is more brittle when cold, and if your snapper gets cold, it may cause the hinges to snap.

So, if you are working outside during the winter it makes sense to keep your safe snap in a pocket where it can be kept warm, it's then less likely to break.
