19.2.18 - vacancy: Customer care and administration role in central Dorchester

Update: Friday 9th March: Thank you to everyone who applied, we have now appointed a candidate to this post.

Exchange Supplies is a successful social enterprise based in central Dorchester (off Maumbury road, opposite the skate park) leading the world in the prevention of blood borne virus infections through the design and development of safer injecting equipment. We employ about 20 people, and in addition to shipping over 500 orders a week to our customers around the world, we provide total administration and customer care support to the UK's National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) which is funded by the NHS to provide online training and registration to healthcare workers in the smoking cessation field, as well as supporting the development of smoking cessation services in a number of other countries.

As the work of the NCSCT continues to grow – and in the coming months will increase rapidly as they implement a re-registration process for the thousands of practitioners who have passed the assessment, we are looking to recruit a competent administrator and customer-focused person to an interesting, varied, and busy role that will provide:

  • email and telephone helpline support to users of the NCSCT online training programme (resetting passwords, checking results, troubleshooting user issues using the database etc.,);

  • Telephone and email customer care and support for both NCSCT and Exchange Supplies;

  • Admin support for NCSCT face to face training courses;

  • Order processing, and stock control for the NCSCT publications;

  • Administration and report data extraction for the NCSCT;

  • PA support to the NCSCT director and the Exchange Supplies management team; and

  • Telephone, order processing, and customer care for customers of Exchange Supplies.

Don't worry if you feel that the subject areas of our training and products are outside your expertise: full training will be given.

We are a social enterprise committed to equal opportunities, and are happy to consider all suitably qualified applicants.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Organised, and have a great telephone manner;

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications;

  • Able to reliably enter data;

  • Able to learn to use new software;

  • Able to remember numbers, product codes etc.,

  • Flexible in what they do; and

  • Keen to learn about our fields of work.

Hours and Salary
This is a full time, Monday to Friday 9 to 5 role. The salary is negotiable, depending on your experience, but we expect starting salary to be in the range £19-21.5k pa. However, if you are in / looking for a more senior role, have experience in customer care, are familiar with accounting software, and are able to take on additional finance, and bookkeeping tasks we would be happy to consider your application, and would consider a competitive salary that is commensurate with your experience and qualifications.

Pay at Exchange Supplies is reviewed annually and, where possible, rises to keep pace with inflation, and reward role development.
